OMG, the flashbacks this is causing.

These are roughly 26 years old. I don't know exactly how old you are, Chase, but it occurs to me that you were likely an infant or possibly not even born yet when these were published. Fuck, that makes me feel old.

I remember some of the covers, but not all of them. I'd almost forgotten about Hands Off Washington, which was HUGE at the time, fighting a string of anti-gay ballot measures, partly prompted by even worse anti-gay measures being pushed by some Oregon right-wingers. I can see this series is going to trigger all sorts of old memories, both good and bad.

Is this an appropriate enough venue for me to remind the Stranger staff that they've never provided readers a means to get copies of old covers? I posed this question on Questionland - remember THAT venture? - and I believe Dan even agreed it was a good idea, but nothing has been done in the years since.

Does The Stranger not keep digital copies of their covers backed up somewhere? Can you make them available for us to print and frame for those times/issues that were important to us? (Or heck, charge us to have it reprinted on newsprint and shipped to us?) My cover from after Obama's election win - composed of op-ed article descriptions like "REJOICE. REVEL. REPEAT." and "WE'VE ENTERED A NEW ERA. WELCOME HOME. WELCOME BACK TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." on different bars of color - is yellowing in the poor-quality frame I have, but I'd really love to have a high-quality version to print and hang.

I knew one of the guys running The Urban Spelunker in the late 80's - remember him complaining about fierce competition from The Stranger. They folded in the early 90's.
