The numbers went down sharply as people got vaccinated. But the combination of loosening restrictions and the Delta variant sent them back up. The Delta variant is far more contagious, so it takes more people getting vaccinated to get the numbers down. We have nowhere near enough people vaccinated, in part because of assholes like you. If everyone had gotten vaccinated there would have been no Delta variant and there would not be as many cases of COVID. Unvaccinated assholes keep the spread alive. The vaccines have had a marked effect on hospitalizations and deaths. The people filling up the hospitals and dying en masse are the unvaccinated. Breakthrough cases are a small percentage and deaths of those vaccinated are an even smaller percentage and involve people who have compromised immune systems (like Colin Powell, fighting cancer, no functioning immune system at all).

It is the never ending drum beat of those who insist on denying vaccination's efficacy and spreading flat out lies that perpetuates this pandemic. All of the people whining and bitching and moaning about everything regarding the pandemic are 100% responsible for it continuing.

Report people for spreading lies that get people killed.

While infection rates and hospitalizations a year ago were indeed about the same as current levels, they were already on a steep upward double-spike (the second spike caused by the Delta variant) that began in late September 2020 and that didn't peak until early January 2021, which corresponds to when vaccines began to be widely available. Additionally, we're currently on the tail end of another spike that began in early August and which peaked in mid September, a period during which a large portion of the population had already been fully vaccinated.

And I suppose it needs to be pointed out to you once again - despite our repeating it to you at-nauseum - that currently, roughly 95% of COVID-related deaths, hospitalizations and new cases are from people who are UNVACCINATED. It's not vaccinated people clogging up the ICU's right now, gasping for air, and demanding some non-existent "miracle cure" with their dying breaths, but idiots who refuse to get a free jab in the arm, because "freedumb" or whatever bullshit, pre-adolescent foot-stamping protest they think they're making.

This is a tragedy without question, and the entire industry is devastated that it happened, but "murder" it most definitely was not. If there i any culpability on the part of someone on-set it most likely will fall on the prop master or armorer for failing to ensure the weapon was properly loaded. And even then, it's possible no amount of checking or double-checking would have been able to determine the blank round was defective, so it then comes down to a question of why the camera set up wasn't protected, as would be the normal practice. It's one reason many in the industry have for some time refused to use live-fire weapons of any type in their productions, as Ms. Griffith has done, and this horrible accident may finally convince TPTB that they should be banned altogether. The small amount of money required to CGI in a muzzle-flash is a small price to pay compared to the loss of a life.

He also didn't cross any picket line, because no union in the industry is currently on-strike.
