How gross, treating Teachers like that. From there you lost me, Charles. Then I haven’t faced watching that show.
Capitalism is a rip off to most and it’s done in real time with real people. Here’s to Bernie, beating the socialised medicine drum over & over.

The promoters of the event have nothing to apologize for. This looked like fun. It wasn't any more humiliating than appearing on Jeopardy or any other game show. This was only viewed as humiliating because teachers are underpaid, not because playing a game like this is fundamentally humiliating. Most working people would like to play this game (again, it looks like fun).

The great part is, it shed a light on how underpaid teachers are. Holy shit, they made national news! You can write letters to the editor, or protest, or write your representative, but nothing shines a light on an injustice more than an event like this. Greenpeace would be proud.

I haven't seen Squid Game (it was not apparently broadcast in the rock I live under), but when I read the story of the teachers and the ice rink, I immediately thought of the film "The Running Man" and the show "Climbing for Dollars". Capitalism run amok.
