That big dead raccoon needs to be in the yard waste, not the recycle bin.

3

Hate to be a debbie downer, but dead raccoon posts aren't very interesting.

4

Not one but two dead raccoons, with no warning preceding the photos? What in the unholy fuck is wrong with you?

Hey Orange Turd and The World's Biggest of Sore Losers: If you don't end up getting cornholed in federal prison, just die already. THEN the overwhelming majority of us will cheer, dumbass.

Rest in peace, Peter Bogdanovich! After 82 years, thanks for some real film and TV classics like What's Up, Doc? (1972, Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal), Paper Moon, (1973, Ryan O'Neal and Tatum O'Neal), and Get Smart (1965-1969 Don Adams, Barbara Feldon) among so many others. Thank you and bless you for the laughs and excellent film directing, production, and writing. Heaven got another good one along with the beloved late Betty White.

@2 dvs99: Agreed on the dead raccoon. In related news, all-time sore loser Donald J. Trump needs to be properly disposed of in a deep landfill site, not hiding away in Mar-a-Lunatic Swamp.

"as we put it: 'The Cops Just Made Shit Up During CHOP.' This morning, Matt asked, 'Which elected officials will have the nerve to call out lying cops?' "

Oh, for fuck's sake, that's what cops do. And while you might rightly ask which elected officials will have the nerve to call out the cops, the real question is which journalists are capable of acting on journalistic principles/requirements? The press is supposed to inform the public of the counter narrative to the police and its attendant bureaucratic structures (including the pretend police accountability system), exactly what The Stranger has been failing to do for well over a year. A complete fucking abandonment of of journalistic ethics.

Here is what The Stranger does: waits for official state news sources (Seattle Times) to report the official findings of state agencies (OPA, OIG, & CPC).

Here is what The Stranger doesn't do: any investigative work on police accountability or even report on others independent investigations, like, for example, the 17 stories during 2021 from Carolyn Bick at the South Seattle Emerald: https://hjgale.tumblr.com/post/668337923167485952/2021-articles-by-carolyn-bick-on-the-failures-of

That raccoon post was the full package. Timeless. Thanks as always Charles (and Chase).

The Cheneys know the GOP has lost its way. Gone are the days you could count on them to destroy the country in a more subtle and classy manner.

10

Incorrect, Phoebs. Dead raccoon posts are the best posts.

@3,

Gonna pile on and throw all the kudos to the fond remembrances of dead raccoons. So wonderful, I remember the original CM post and have thought about it numerous times since he first wrote it (them actually. He wrote a couple posts about his friend if memory serves.)

Also, I know practically nothing of that Kristof fellow, but his inability to foresee this hiccup in the campaign launch would seem to portend quite poorly for an actual governorship. Though I'd have to imagine his opponents would be salivating at the chance to grill him about it.

Without death, there is no life. Embrace death as you embrace life.

13

10 & 11 - I'll give them another shot and try to get past the visuals.

14

Is this the same Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times who told everybody in a January 2017 Op. Ed piece in The Seattle Times to "give Trump a chance" ?? And he's a Democrat? I'll bet he's kicking himself over that blunder.

History, unfortunately, records that the first attempt to overturn a presidential election was in 2017 by Rep Pramila Jayapal:

Trivia: When the Broadway Market theater closed they had a single showing of The Last Picture Show on the last night. That was fun.

Bogdanovich-related, now's a good excuse to re-watched Star 80.

17

Rest in peace, Sidney Poitier after 94 years, and thank you for all your outstanding film and television work (A Raisin in the Sun, 1961, The Blackboard Jungle, 1955, Porgy & Bess, 1959, Lillies of the Field, 1963, which won Poitier a Best Actor Oscar; Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, 1967 and may more). Another good one makes it Up There, joining Betty White and Peter Bogdanovich. What a blessing that all three had such wonderfully productive lives.

@16 stinkbug: How is Star 80 connected to Peter Bogdanovich? Bob Fosse directed Star 80. I don't see the connection.

18

@16: Never mind my comment @17. After doing a little further Google digging I read that Vancouver, B.C. born Canadian Playboy Playmate Dorothy Stratten was having an affair with Peter Bogdanovich while he was directing and she starred in They All Laughed in 1981. Stratten's story is really rather sad, how she was only 20 and murdered by her husband, Paul Snider.

YIKES on Snowmageddon 2022 Snoqualmie Pass on I-90, I-5, I-405, Stevens Pass on USR2, North Cascades Highway on SR20, SR101, Chuckanut Drive on SR11(especially on the sea cliffs and down to the flats!), White Pass on SR12, the Tacoma Narrows Bridges on SR16, SR18, throughout Western Washington in rural areas and anywhere near overflowing sloughs and rivers, especially the Stillaguamish, Skagit, and Nooksack!
Everyone stay warm and safe.

20

@19: Residents in Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom Counties should also be on flood watch alert all along SR9, too, from Bothell to Sumas.
Climate change is indeed, real.
