When you say "The bill to end qualified immunity didn't even see the cold light of day this session, which gives you a sense of how Democrats are feeling about police accountability this year" you might pause and reflect: why the fuck should corporate dems give two fuckcs about something you give exactly zero fucks about over the last year or so?

Super-informative roundup by Rich Smith.

I'm likin' this one:
"SB 5528: Sen. Jamie Pedersen's proposal to let cities and other places tax themselves to make improvements to Sound Transit passed the Senate last Friday on a party line vote, which is good news for people who want a chance to fight to speed up light rail construction."

This would be such a breakthrough, considering the state legislature's longtime resistance to allowing Sound Transit more funding sources. It was enough of a tightrope walk just to get ST3 authorized by the legislature.

Of course, the next question becomes, whether the Seattle City Council and Mayor Harrell have the guts and the vision to put together a meaningful city-wide ballot measure to expedite the Ballard and West Seattle buildout.
