@3 MTG actually received fewer votes in the run-off than she received in the primary. In other words, some of the people that voted for her in the primary changed their mind for the runoff, and switched to supporting Cowan.

In addition, now that she's managed to get banned from Twitter, her fundraising ability is hampered.

I'd be a bit surprised if she was still in Congress following the next election, so I don't see her ending up as Speaker of the House or whatever. She's much more likely to end up as some half-baked InfoWars contributor (which is sort of her part-time job at the moment).

Jesus, had no idea she was still serving her first term. Feel like I've been reading about her shit-brained goonery for the past decade. I probably also discounted the potential ascension of Abbott or Desantis as well. And they'll all be trying to outdo each other for pure, lib-owning awfulness too. It's gonna be so stupid & sad.

MTG and Boebert are fulfilling very important roles as low-hanging laughingstocks for the massive clickbait mockery-mills that sprang up across all left-leaning media during the last presidency. After the reigning buffoon-in-chief left office kicking and screaming, the subsequent ratings collapse rendered a host of newly-minted outrage vendors desperate for a replacement piñata. Sadly for them, neither of these designated substitutes have proven to pull the kind of ratings routinely enjoyed by the Very Stable Genius, and at this point it's probably too late for those outlets to go back to trying to get clicks with anything so prosaic as reporting the news.

For my part I'd be far more worried about GOP candidates in the mold of Virginia's Gov Youngkin, positioning themselves as reasonable by simply appearing less obviously crazy than the aforementioned, but as a result far more likely to advance GOP policy goals on the national stage.
