I dunno, I feel like Seattle rolled over and let Amazon campus sprawl and bloat without paying its fair share for their impact on the community. Why should Berkeley be any different? Don’t let anyone tell you universities aren’t deep pocketed businesses.

"Gas is too cheap as it is. We need its price to go through the roof," says the person who does not know how to drive a car.

Mudede's articles are akin to the ramblings of a college student who just discovered liberalism.

9

"...the sting on this peculiar insect only hurts the poor and the working classes." And POC, and women, and LGBTQ, and the environment, and Ukrainians, and democracies, and...

10

@6 do you have dementia? You say the same goddamn thing every day

"March for Our Rights"

I wonder how many of these loyal patriots can name any of the Bill of Rights past #2?

*or how many could pass our citizenship test

When a man after reaching adulthood transitions to a trans woman, she retains the structure, capacity and strength of the male body. A totally unfair advantage if she plays on a woman's team.

Who makes this point over and over again? Caitlyn Jenner.

Now that was a SLOG worthy of the good ol' days. Thanks, Charles.

@5 Russia doesn't claim the war is caused by capitalism. They say right out loud that its impelled by an ideological vision of a united Russian world. Its a purely aesthetic project. But we are trying to stop it with Capitalism. So, its, like ironic. Glad I could help.

Ask people about when they got their first car and how at that time they perceived gas prices. Did they think they would never rise? Or that they were locked in at a certain max price or certain rate increase?

17

@11/@12 - Not exclusive to Proud Boys, in fact it describes most of us.

Charles has been pro-favela* for years: "A homeless camp is nothing but the seed of a slum. It is poverty in search of a location to settle in the city. A sprouting slum will offer its inhabitants a stability strengthened by the bonds of a shared experience." (https://www.thestranger.com/slog/2019/08/27/41214068/seattle-needs-a-slum) He's now criticizing environmental laws (!) for preventing too many persons from crowding into spaces unprepared for them, but at least he is being consistent.

*Not In Charles' Back Yard, of course. Just try to camp out in Charles' neighborhood and you will be swept, immediately and without mercy.

@13.
No. Bone structure unfortunately remains the same but strength definitely does not. From my own experience, muscle melts away and requires more intense training to regain or keep. AMAB transwomen that transition earlier in life take the puberty blockers that Abbot and Paxton are trying to keep from them won't have the bone structure either.
Caitlyn Jenner has the privilege of leisure time to burn, professional facilities and trainers. She does not speak for all transwomen or even other transwomen athletes.

21

@17, most of us don't make a cloyingly pitiful, performative display of how much we supposedly love this country tho

23

@20: But she is trans and you're not.

You keep posting to studies as if it makes the issues go away. The social ramifications are important too. Good or bad. Sincere or disengious. You have to listen blip.

24

@23
And you don't have to listen to other trans voices besides the multi-millionaire man-slaughtering idiot that is Caitlyn Jenner?

The studies that @20 posted are important antidotes to the uninformed biases that many have, including you.

25

@24: Are you really saying that everyone's going to have an epiphany and suddenly be accepting once that they understand the science?

But it is something that teams can work out eventually, provided everyone keeps an open mind, unplugs their ears, and is accommodating and respectful.

I met Annie when she won a SIFF pass, actually.

The only problem is the Powers That Be refuse to return Seattle to our normal 65 foot zoning we had until the 1930s, including Magnolia, Montlake, and Wallingford.

We need more housing built than the number of people - wanted or unwanted - that move here.
