Let the name of William Smith be stricken from every book and tablet. Stricken from every pylon and obelisk of the republic. He shall not be offered a drop of wine or a crust of bread within 1000 miles of our holy city. Let the name of William Smith be unheard and unspoken, erased from the memory of man, for all time.

omg they have Pill for that shit Rich!

"The only reasons these necromancers [Rs] will likely win back the House in November after deliberately trying to spread a deadly respiratory virus for two full years?"

try this on for size:

Corporate Media Ignores Senate Hearing on Corporate Greed and Inflation

It is exceedingly rare for a major congressional committee to hold hearings on “corporate greed” leading to corporate profiteering and surging prices on consumer goods.

On April 5, 2022, Senate Budget Chairman, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) chartered uncensored territory on corporate avarice with a lead witness, former Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich, now a professor at the University of California, Berkeley.

Although the hearing covered bread and butter issues, the mainstream corporate media ignored it.

Massive coverage of the war in Ukraine does not offend advertisers, while the corporate war on consumers directly involves corporate advertisers.

… at the Senate hearing, Sanders chose to focus on the economic exploitation of consumers. Here is his introductory remark:

"Across every major industry, prices continue to rise – this includes a 38 percent increase in the price of gasoline, a 44 percent increase in the price of heating oil, a 41 percent increase in the price of a used car, a 24 percent in the price of rental cars, and a 17 percent increase in the price of furniture.

Further, Tyson Foods recently increased beef prices by 32 percent, the price of chicken by 20 percent and the price of pork by 13 percent. As prices increase, corporate profits hit a record high of nearly $3 trillion in 2021, up 25 percent in a single year."

He might have added that the companies profiting from these price increases paid a record low amount in federal income taxes. Moreover, the net worth of their richest shareholders soared in the midst of the pandemic.

The Biden White House has proposed stronger antitrust and consumer protection measures. They want to tax billionaires and unproductive stock buybacks – the latter being a long-time desire of President Biden.

But there is no energy by his Party in Congress compared to the energy by the GOP to stop these measures.

Besides, both parties are dialing for the same corporate campaign cash – a daily begging that dilutes the reformists’ ardor.

If Democrats can’t organize a determined hearing, that generates massive media coverage, how do they expect to make these popular issues front and center in the coming November elections?

How do they expect to rebut the twistificating Republicans from succeeding in blaming the Democrats for these corporate-bred inflationary pressures on voters?

The Democrats haven’t even formulated the slogans for such an offensive.

can you say
feckless?

Mend well Rich! So home testing doesn't indicate which variant it is, or can they now?

4

“ We already know the actual solution to homelessness: Cheap rent and high vacancy rates.”

Not without a Recession.

5

Get Well Rich, I hope you don't get any long-term ills.

"The only reasons these necromancers will likely win back the House in November after deliberately trying to spread a deadly respiratory virus for two full years? Gerrymandering and a rudderless Democratic Party."

The Democratic Party isn't rudderless. It's just that the hand on the tiller has been steering too close to the Progressive Shoals which has driven the working class to abandon ship.

The reason the necromancers are likely to win back the House in November is because of three years of Progressive whining alienating all the people who aren't in academia.

7

PS. Take care and get well Mr. Smith.

Take all the vitamins, can't hurt.

8

PS, and plenty of water not alcohol.

9

@6,
Well not to make a point of it but Nancy (who names their kid Nancy today?) Is 82 and our President is 79. Whoopee! Total Boomers running the show! Great choice!
And in Two Years? Who? Harris?

10

Get well. The end game is a week or two of a lingering half ass feeling of energy. Power through it, you’ll be fine.

11

@9
The Donald is 75 and Mitch McConnell is 80.

So your point is?

12

@9 In two years?

If he runs, Biden, absolutely.

If he does not run?

As of today I would probably default to my preferred candidate from early in 2020 Cory Booker.

13

Matt, you just might get what Bruce Willis has and a total loss any senses for no more than 6 years minimum. Blindness will kick in immediately and be permanent. Don't worry, that's the only change you won't feel.

Don't Worry!

14

@9 you honestly think Joe is running the country? I think it’s more likely a bunch of handlers in the background and he is more of a mouthpiece. The Dems have a real issue in 24 as Joe clearly is not completely lucid now and no telling where he will be in 2 years. Kamala can’t even keep her staff much less run the country. I don’t know who steps up. It prob depends if Trump runs or not.

How to Improve Heart Health [etc] After Covid

Evidence suggests that Covid survivors have substantially higher chances of developing cardiovascular disease. But experts say there are effective ways to minimize the risk.

Looks like our public schools are really trying to practice medicine without a license in trying to ascertain gender dysphoria in very young children. Not good on multiple levels. We wouldn't have "Don't say Gay bills" popping up all over the country if overzealous teachers didn't think that children are their little own mounds of clay to mold in their psychosocial quests.

from @15

This article and the comments punctures the covid complacency that has spread across the country, as we celebrate the "return to normal" and stop using mask and social distancing, and start taking chances that were considered too risky during the pandemic peak.

Perhaps more such articles will warn more people about the dire consequence of dropping our guard prematurely. Getting vaccinated, wearing a mask and social distancing are small inconveniences compared to living with long covid.

Chewing a Poptart into the shape a pistol is gender expression.

20

Get better soon, Rich!
Drink Lots of fluids

21

practicing medicine is when you refer to people by their preferred pronouns

22

when actual gay people are willing participants in a moral panic that places targets squarely on our rights and our ability to exist openly and safely you know dark times are ahead for us

23

it’s also darkly funny that the same people who whine about helicopter parents also think it’s their god given responsibility to micromanage every facet of their kid’s identity & social behavior

24

@19: Icing is typically put on the cake after baking.

25

Such "moral panic" is an absurd extrapolation for "parental concern" and yes, it does get convoluted by politicians into "targets squarely on our rights and our ability to exist openly and safely you know dark times are ahead for us."

Thanks lefties.

26

Make Will Smith Host the Oscars next year. The punishment should fit the crime.

27

@25

..!..

28

I hope you're feeling better soon, Rich. Happy healing.

Just one little thing....

Could you please offer more stories about men who AREN'T "angry and delusional"?
I'm currently suffering from a rather overwhelming "asshole overload" in the news and could use a break.

29

@1,

So it sounds like you're saying that you'd like for me to LEAVE WILL SMITH'S NAME OUT MY FUCKIN' MOUTH!!!?

Please wait...
