«Around one hundred protesters turned up outside Justice Samuel Alito's house»
This is the kind of kinetic outrage that is required.

@1 I hope none of them feel safe or secure while citizens civil liberties are under attack. Very sad but not surprising the Democrats were tripping over themselves to align with the Fascists on this one to give police even more money even though women (and soon to be everyone not a straight white male) across the country are actually the ones in danger. What's the tipping point going to be? Voting our way out of this seems less and less likely. Show up to the polls. But show up to their houses too. May they never poop in peace again.

QE2 isn't going to step down. She's going to die, and relatively soon - before next Spring probably. She's 96, after all.

Republicans made a celebrity out of kyle rittenhouse and have spent months downplaying a serious attempt at an insurrection, meanwhile democrats fall over themselves to scold peaceful protesters outside the homes of our unelected and all-powerful judiciary, who are poised to dial back women's rights a half-century. The future is looking pretty bleak right now.

5

The Court gave us a national right to abortion (up to 24 weeks or so) and, apparently, the Court will now return the issue to the various States and their more local, more democratic processes. The "political establishment" isn't "scared shitless" of a First Amendment exercise. I assume that they are concerned that an emotional mob might turn violent. After all, the Senate did pass the bill unanimously. A lot of those Senators are Pro-Choice, right?

6

The anti-human liars at the Court deserve nothing but scorn and derision everywhere they go. No peace for those religio-fascists. Fuck them. Democrats leaders should be out there with the protestors, not trying to lock them up. What a pathetic display of craven conformity.

Listen, I realize that what a painting sells for is no measure of its artistic merit, but I'll take the Basquiat any day over Warhol's Marilyn Monroe, however iconic the Warhol may be. I got to see the Basquiat at SAM when its Japanese purchaser put it on tour, and I just loved it. And I'd have loved it if it had sold for $5K and not $110M.

Anyway, on topics folks are more interested in... When I see well-intentioned people protesting at the homes of Supreme Court justices, I think, "You know who must think that's a good idea? Kshama Sawant." Sure, modern-day conservatives do not feel constrained by norms and decency, but I'm not sure the wise response from progressives is to look at that and view it as a tactical advantage and emulate it. When politics is reduced to "by any means necessary," that generally redounds to the political benefit of reactionary forces.

The democratic leadership are all going to be dead in 10 years, they don’t give a fuck about anything because they don’t have to. Just spinning their wheels high on nostalgia for a Republican party that at least pretended to not be a fundamentalist death cult. The planet is on fire, our civil rights are headed for the dust bin, and no one can afford to live anymore but at least our judges know they’re safe from the huddled masses. What a fucking joke.

The contrast between the Ukrainians’ incredible bravery in fighting barbaric Ru$$ians and the Democrats’ surrender to the illegitimate Republinazi fascists here at home is beyond appalling.

Diamond Joe called Mitch McCONjob a good man and a friend... who wants him either jailed or dead. Nancy Pelosi says she wants a strong Republinazi party when they're looting the country and want to kill us. It's all so demoralizing and humiliating. The Democratic "leadership" has got to go.

They can't even defend themselves from the GrOPers ongoing coup to overthrow democracy that they're bragging about openly. And people used to wonder how the Weimar Republic collapsed. Pathetic.

Jesus, Endless War, and the Rise of American Fascism

The Democratic Party is hoping to thwart an election rout by running against the expected Supreme Court decision on abortion. This is depressingly all that is left of its political capital.

… behind the walls of the Democratic Party’s Potemkin village stands the billionaire class. Democrats have failed to address the structural injustices that turned America into an oligarchic state, where the obscenely rich squabble like children in a sandbox over multibillion-dollar toys.

The longer this game of political theater continues, the worse things will get.

The Christian fascists have coalesced in cult-like fashion around Donald Trump. They are bankrolled by the most retrograde forces of capitalism.

The capitalists permit the stupidities of the Christian fascists and their self-destructive social and cultural wars.

In exchange, the billionaire class gets corporate monopolies, union busting, privatized state, and municipal services, including public education, revoked government regulations, especially environmental regulation, and can engage in a virtual tax boycott.

The political deformities we have spawned are not unique. They are the product of a society and government that no longer functions on behalf of the citizenry, one that has been seized by a tiny cabal, in our case corporate, to serve its exclusive interests.

@blip
Careful dude, you're sounding a lot like someone who, according to a bunch of unreasonable cultists that comment here often, is a MAGA hat wearing fascist dumbshit. By don't let that stop you :)

12

@11: Pretty sure the "MAGA hat wearing fascist dumbshit" here is you.

13

@12 Ahh, so you admit you're an unreasonable cultist. Congratulations that's the first step toward recovery. Keep it up!
