Around 12:30 this morning, two off-duty officers working near Taylor Ave N and Thomas Street reported hearing shots fired.

While police were en route, a man approached the off-duty officers and told them he had been shot.

According to SPD spokeswoman Renee Witt, the man was shot in the "butt area." and a bullet also grazed his ear.

The man was taken to Harborview and SPD's gang unit responded to the scene.

About an hour and a half later, officers on patrol near the Venom Night Club reported hearing gunfire on Blanchard and Elliot. Witnesses at the scene told police that a man in a white sedan fired several shots from his car and fled southbound on the viaduct. It does not appear anyone was hurt in the shooting.

Police stopped a vehicle matching witnesses' description on 1st Avenue South and South Spokane Street, but did not find a gun or shell casings. The three men inside the car were released.
