Paid Content reports that the magazine industry is about to roll out a 90 million dollar ad campaign about why magazines are better than the internet.

One ad says: β€œThe Internet is fleeting. Magazines are immersive.” Another one, to run in ESPN (NYSE: DIS) magazine, features Michael Phelps, with the headline β€œWe surf the Internet. We swim in magazines.”

Rolling Stone's Jann Wenner is spearheading this campaign, which would totally work as an Onion story without much exaggeration.
