Looks like it's gonna happen:

"Let's face it, we don't have an agreement yet. It would be more than a miracle," House Majority Leader Lynn Kessler said Wednesday morning. "I think we will probably do that (a special session)."

Cory Curtis, Gov. Chris Gregoire's spokesman, also said, "The general consensus is they're going in that direction."

State senator Ed Murray (D-43) says lawmakers, who were supposed to adjourn tomorrow, should only need about a week. It's not terribly surprising things are running long: Even-year legislative sessions are short—60 days—and this year's was complicated by figuring out how to shore up a $2.8 billion budget shortfall.
