Barnes & Noble Going Electric?
Gizmodo points out that Barnes & Noble's new CEO, William Lynch, has
a long career in e-commerce, and also worked for two years at Palm. The company is obviously going to be getting behind
ebooks and the web in a huge way. The first thing they should do is make an ereader that's better than the Nook.
In the corporeal books world, I'd like to second Cienna's appreciation of these gorgeous hardcover classics. I wish that designers of new books had such a classic design sense and an ardent appreciation of the book as a sturdy, beautiful object. On the other hand, I think that these tattoo-inspired covers are all hideous, except for The Broom of the System. At least they're trying something, I guess.
