Gizmodo points out that Barnes & Noble's new CEO, William Lynch, has a long career in e-commerce, and also worked for two years at Palm. In the corporeal books world, I'd like to second Cienna's appreciation of these gorgeous hardcover classics. I wish that designers of new books had such a classic design sense and an ardent appreciation of the book as a sturdy, beautiful object. On the other hand, I think that these tattoo-inspired covers are all hideous, except for The Broom of the System. At least they're trying something, I guess.
