A
new black-and-white series of films for the otherwise endangered species of instant cameras goes on sale March 25; color's slated to come maybe as soon as this summer. Impossible is the name of the maker, and
the packaging alone is gorgeous enough to earn its own (non-Polaroid) photo series.
The blog 1854 is starting an online Impossible Collection, in which artists submit shots (modeled after the original Polaroid Collection). It's already begun (examples here and here), including the image at right. Everything is so washy and dreamy and opiated. It's like Julia Margaret Cameron in an indie film, all Victorian-urban. Hmm. I'm not sure I love that. But I'm extremely glad the Polaroid lives.
