The Seattle City Council is having a Viaduct and Seawall Replacement Project meeting to discuss ways to fund the project in light of other major city expenses. The meeting includes 20 minutes for public comment. It's today on the 2nd floor of City Hall (600 Fourth Avenue) at 2:30 p.m., right after the full City Council meeting at 2:00 p.m.

And this evening, the Parks and Green Spaces Levy Oversight Committee will discuss some of the proposed Seattle Parks projects, including ballfields and plans for public art. Park Board Room, Denny Park, 100 Dexter Ave N, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Competing with the parks meeting for your attention this evening is the Youth and Families Initiative public meeting, also at 7:00 p.m. Large groups will meet with facilitators to discuss issues concerning children and families in Seattle and select delegates for an upcoming Kids and Families Congress. Garfield Community Center, 2323 East Cherry St., 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, PubliCola hosts a 520 replacement forum. Seattle City Council Member Mike O’Brien (who wants a rapid-transit-friendly design) will spar with state Rep. Deb Eddy (D-48) (who ushered through a bill this session to begin construction on a design with zero dedicated transit lanes). At the Del Rey in Belltown (2332, 1st Ave), doors open at 5:30 p.m.
