Yesterday, per Lindy's suggestion, I went to the annual King and Snohomish County Regional Spelling Bee at Town Hall. Bustling with excited, literate kids and their respective family members, the bee proved to be completely endearing. As I looked over the list of contenders and picked a few random favorites to keep things interesting, the stage filled up with 55 kids hungry for victory.

Unfortunately, my list of favorites flubbed their words pretty quickly. And at the end, I was left rooting for Kela Harrington, a seventh grader from Islander Middle School. She was stuck in a nail-biter with one other speller in the twelfth round, but came up victorious after correctly spelling "supplementary." It was a great Suggests, and congratulations Kela!
