David Laskin reads at the Central Branch of the Seattle Public Library tonight. Laskin's The Long Way Home is about 12 young men who arrive at Ellis Island, only to have to turn right back around and go back to Europe to fight in World War I.

And University Book Store is hosting Mark Henry, Jeanne Stein, Jaye Wells, and Cory Doctorow tonight. The four sci-fi authors are reading as part of a celebration of Norwescon, the science fiction convention that took place this past weekend. Doctorow will be returning to town in about a month to read at the Sunset Tavern, with music and a Q&A session led by....well, me. This is the reading of the night, but be sure to save your good Doctorow questions for May.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
