Capitol Hill Seattle blog has an update on the Jade Pagoda building that has sat vacant and unloved at the end of Broadway Avenue for years.

A few weeks ago Redside Partners, the owners of the building, received their permits for a full remodel of the building and work has already begun. According to Redside's Craig Swanson the building could be ready as soon as July, of course he also notes that "these things have a tendency to take longer and be more expensive" then (sic) planned.

The remodel will accommodate up to three retail spaces, and owners are currently in talks to rent one space to a restaurant. The owners note that they don't want to rent to bars or night clubs because of the building's old bones. Its last remodel was in 1967.
