We have a memoir about battling cancer, a mystery set in Wyoming, a novel about a modern girl who finds a boy from 1944 in her back yard, a book about finding success in the music business, and more tonight.

Karen Joy Fowler reads at University Book Store tonight. Fowler writes great science fiction, and she also writes bookclub-friendly fiction like The Jane Austen Book Club. As tonight is a Clarion West event, she will probably be firmly locked in sci-fi mode.

And you'll be seeing a Suggest for Rebecca Skloot at Town Hall coming up very soon. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is the kind of "you-can't-make-this-up" story that combines weird science, race, and history into one eye-popping narrative.

Either of these events would make a fine reading for you tonight.
The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
