Today Jim asked Questionland for some movie recommendations that would be loved by a group of 10-12 year olds:

I'd like to show a move to a group of 10-12 year olds who've honestly earned a reprieve from their daily grind. I'd like to find something that has merit and that predates this age group by at least 10-20 years. In the past I've been able to blow their with the anachronistic Karate Kid but now that it is being re-made all I will hear about is "this isn't the Karate Kid". So much for the wisdom of Mr. Miagi. Someone suggested The Goonies. While this might be great fun I'm looking to avoid the fat kid / fart jokes genre.
