On Sunday, Great Northwest Bookstore in Oregon burned down. It was a bookstore located in a church:

The bookseller once operated his store near Portland mainstay Jake's Famous Crawfish before he bought the former church building in 2003. As chain bookstores and the Internet made it more difficult for Portland's independent booksellers to compete, Great Northwest transitioned into a primarily online business, taking orders and storing books within the former church. The building has an approximate market value of more than $500,000 and an assessed value that exceeds $200,000, according to the Portland Maps website.

The website is still up and running, though, if you might want to send your condolences.
