Aryn Kyle reads at Elliott Bay Book Company tonight. Kyle wrote the novel The God of Animals, and now she is the author of a collection of short stories titled Boys and Girls Like You and Me.

The Hugo House is hosting Castalia, the UW creative writing program reading series. This time out, David Wagoner is reading, which is always a treat. Wagoner is a local poet who knows more about Seattle poetry than just about anybody.

Laurie Notaro reads at University Book Store tonight. Spooky Little Girl is a novel about a woman who "has a fatal encounter on public transportation." She winds up stuck in a limbo-like afterlife, which is often just like taking public transportation.

And Joanie Mackowski reads at Open Books tonight. View from a Temporary Window is a book of poems with a curious title. You can find some poems of Mackowski's over here.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
