There's a lot of events tonight, including something about how animals enhance your writing, a couple of mysteries, an author who also read last night about how China is going to take over the world, and an open mic.

At Queen Anne Books tonight, Kerry Colburn reads from How to Have Your Second Child First, which is a title that makes the reader envision all kinds of gynecological shenanigans.

And Town Hall hosts two events tonight. Dennis Henigan will read downstairs. Lethal Logic: Exploding the Myths That Paralyze American Gun Policy is about how the NRA uses a bunch of bullshit to rationalize their penis gun obsession. And upstairs, we have Charlaine Harris. Harris, the creator of the series of books that became the HBO TV show True Blood, reads from the tenth book in that series, Dead in the Family. This is one of those crazy-popular author readings you just have to kind of get swept up in, you know? (Or you can come to Slog Happy for free books. Your choice.)

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
