Last night UnoriginalAndrew needed help remembering a word. After having no success with Google, he asked Questionland:
There's a specific and very long word in another language, possibly Finnish or Thai. It refers to when two people are in a relationship and both want to go further but neither is willing to take the next step and is instead waiting for the other one to do so. I've tried Google without success. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?
Just two hours later fellow Questionlander, Musely, saved the day:
Mamihlapinatapai? (Knew I'd seen it before, so I googled "words with no english translation", found it listed in the bottom of the wikipedia page that was at the top of the list.)
Indeed that was the word UnoriginalAndrew was looking for. Because Musely just happened to be at the right place at the right time (with the right knowledge of rare foreign words that mean very specific things), Musely's answer is this week's Answer of the Week! Both Musely and UnoriginalAndrew get a $25 gift card to Pagliacci Pizza!
Way to be smart, Musely!
