There's a mystery, a novel, a book about animal intelligence, and a book about the Battle of Little Big Horn going on tonight. But there are also three events you should really consider because they will probably be awesome and/or informative.

Candance Dempsey reads at University Book Store tonight. Murder in Italy: The Shocking Slaying of a British Student, the Accused American Girl, and an International Scandal is a sleazy-looking true crime paperback about Amanda Knox. You know you want to go to this reading. I won't tell.

There will be a Suggests popping up soon for Cheap Wine & Poetry at the Hugo House tonight. This is the 5TH DAMN ANNIVERSARY of CW&P, which is always a lively, fun night. Tonight's readers include Ryan Boudinot and Nicole Hardy. After five years, wine remains $1 a glass—inflation be damned!

And Sebastian Junger reads at Town Hall tonight, too. The ladies love Junger because he is handsome. Everybody loves Junger because he is a good writer. His new book, War, is about Afghanistan.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
