Police responding to a domestic disturbance call in Ballard last night walked onto the scene of a seeming murder-suicide, according to the Seattle Police Department blotter.
Officers arrived at the 2400 block of 57th Avenue NW at approximately 10:15 p.m., where they surmise "the suspect beat the victim with a hammer and possibly other objects," according to the blotter.
The suspect then jumped to his death from the sixth-floor apartment he reportedly shared with the victim. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center where she died from her wounds.
No other details are available at this time, according to SPD spokeswoman Reneé Witt.
UPDATE: The Seattle Times puts the suspect's age at 74.
