We have a poetry slam, a mystery author, a discussion about totem poles, a book about coyote capitalism and much more tonight.

If you like poetry, you have two options tonight. Patricia Fargnoli reads at Open Books tonight. Fargnoli, the "former Poet Laureate of New Hampshire," will read from her new book of poetry, Then, Something. And Castalia is at the Hugo House tonight. Readers include Rebecca Mancuso, Jessica Tyson, Rachel Welty and Joni Vanderburg. The awesome Pimone Triplett headlines.

Elliott Bay Book Company hosts two readings tonight. Frank Meeink is the author of Autobiography of a Recovering Skinhead: The Frank Meeink Story, and he reads at the bookstore tonight. Elliott Bay is also hosting a reading at Seattle First Baptist Church at 7 pm. Judy Shepard will read from her new book The Meaning of Matthew tonight. Shepard is the president of the Matthew Shepard Foundation.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
