We have a mystery author reading tonight, two environmental-themed readings, and a few readings I'm going to tell you about right now.

At the Hugo House, Dana Elkun reads. Black Box Theater as Abandoned Zoo is Elkun's new poetry chapbook. Two visual artists will create a sculpture based on Elkun's work this evening.

Just across the park, Jacob Paul will read. Sarah/Sara is "the story of a young Orthodox Jewish woman who takes a solo kayak journey across the Arctic Ocean after her parents are killed and she is disfigured by a terrorist bomb in a Jerusalem café."

But the reading of the night is at University Book Store. Jose Alaniz reads from his new book Komiks: Comic Art in Russia. It's all about comics in Russia, which were kind of nothing like comics in America.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
