We have mysteries, historical novels, a book about the importance of women farmers, and open mics tonight. Plus two readings I'm going to tell you about right now.

Candace Dempsey reads up at Third Place Books. Murder in Italy (written in big letters on the cover: "Includes Photos") is a true crime book about Amanda Knox. If that's too salacious for you, (although, come on, you know you want to go) Linda Greenlaw reads at Town Hall tonight. The Hungry Ocean is a book about fishing. Greenlaw was a character in The Perfect Storm, and this is her memoir. I bet she'd be willing to talk about the oil spill and how it could affect fishing in New England, which makes this reading about a bajillion times more revelant to everyone's interests than it would've been two months ago.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
