The Stranger is proud to be the pride-iest publication in this prideful town—we're all working on our beloved annual Queer Issue now—and to advance the Stranger's pro-pride agenda we are hosting a pre-pride kick-off party on Thursday, June 24th.

And to avoid taking sides—Downtown? Capitol Hill?—our pride party is on Lake Union and Lake Washington.

The Stranger and Trouble Dicso are—wait for it—proud to present a Pre-Pride Boat Party with lesbian DJ Kim Ann Foxman of the band Hercules and Love Affair. The party is on The Islander, a lovely and large party boat that boards down in Eastlake. (Map here.) Boat opens at 9:30 and leaves at 10 for a 3 hour booze-y, dance-y, pride-y cruise. Also performing: the Trouble Dicso guys will also DJ (full disclosure: one of the Trouble Dicso guys is my baby daddy) and local dance troupe Dream Weavers will perform something appropriately pride-y. I will also be on board to help kick off pride and—hopefully—summer.

Tickets are $15 and they're available at www.thestranger.com/boatparty.

Our music writers like Kim Ann Foxman...

"Her DJ crates contain classic house, disco, freestyle, 'Precious Little Diamond' by Fox the Fox—pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a Hercules muse andeasily up to the heroic labor of moving a Sunday-night dance floor."

...and Trouble Dicso:

"Trouble Dicso is a night of top-notch dance music (in this case, primarily nu and classic disco) curated by devoted experts"

So join me for the boat party!
