FRIDAY:

The first day of the weekend-long Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show, with over 250 pinball machines and classic arcade games set to free play. Spouse-of-unpaid-intern raved about last year's event and reported that there were oodles of rare machines worth standing in line to fondle play. (Seattle Center, Friday hours are noon to midnight, $15-$20.)

SATURDAY:

Goodwill renovated their flagship store and is celebrating by having a bicycle sale of at least 150 bikes, plus tires, pumps, and other bike accessories. Or you can just go for the refreshments (served from 11 am to 2 pm) and oooh and aaah at Goodwill's upgraded bathrooms and new light fixtures. (Goodwill, 1400 S. Lane Street, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.)

Grand opening party for the West Seattle Tool Library, which aims to have you rent that post-hole digger instead of buying it for one-time use. (South Seattle Community College, 6000 16th Avenue SW, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., free.)

Report from the Gulf Coast Oil Disaster is a presentation by Orpheus Reed who spent two weeks on the Louisiana coast documenting the effects of the oil spill. Reed is a reporter for Revolution, the "voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party," so expect a spin a tad different from CNN's. (Revolution Books, 85 South Washington Street, 7:00 p.m., free, $5 suggested donation.)

SUNDAY:

Those of you too cool for Live Action Role Playing who still want to harmlessly wail on each other are the target audience for the nascent sport of Cardboard Tube Fighting. Bring a sufficiently pugnacious costume; cardboard tubes will be provided. (Cal Anderson Park, noon, free.)

On the other end of Capitol Hill, Seattle Out and Proud sponsors a family-friendly Pride Picnic with live music and games for the kids. (Volunteer Park, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., free/$1 food buffet.)
