A former youth pastor in Lafayette faces three to six years incarceration for having sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl in his care. Robert L. McFadden III, 40, of Lafayette pleaded guilty Tuesday in Tippecanoe Superior Court 1 to three counts of child seduction, each a Class D felony.... the teenager told detectives that she was given massages by McFadden on April 12 and April 14 that led to sexual contact.... In Indiana, the age of sexual consent is 16. However, a person can be charged with child seduction if the victim is between the ages of 16 and 18 and the suspect is a guardian or caretaker. McFadden admitted Wednesday to being in that position since the girl was 5 years old.

A Liberty Township church has fired a youth minister after a man accused her of sexual misconduct when he was a minor. St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish issued a statement May 21 informing parishioners that Gwen Hamblin had admitted to sexual conduct with the teen during a trip to Australia and had been relieved of her duties. A 19-year-old Hamilton man told sheriff's deputies that he and Hamblin engaged in a sexual relationship during a youth group trip two years ago, when he was 17 years old.

A 27-year old man is behind bars Wednesday night, accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year old girl he met at the church where he volunteered. Johnny Eugene Butler faces several charges of sexual misconduct with a minor. The 14-year old's mother tells Fox59 she never suspected a problem when she dropped her daughter off at the Westside Apostolic Church. She says she discovered the consensual relationship when she read her daughter's diary.
