Today's Design Review Board meeting gets an eyeful of the proposed low-income Compass Center project, which would be a seven story structure with 80 studio apartments at 1753 NW 56th Street. The site is currently vacant after the old structure was torn down in Spring 2009 under a nuisance order. The proposal for the site can be seen here: (.pdf). If you aren't all SIFFed out, the downtown Central Library hosts a documentary called "Koolhaas Houselife," which explores the famed architect's creation of a house in Bordeaux, France designed specifically for a man with a wheelchair.
