FRIDAY:

Enjoy a free screening in Wallingford of Beyond the Motor City, a documentary on Detroit's collapse and why car culture is to blame. (Keystone Congregational United Church of Christ, 5019 Keystone Place North, 7:00 p.m., free.)

SATURDAY:

Speaking of car culture, the Seattle Art Car Blowout takes place this weekend at the Fremont Fair, where over 40 decorated vehicles will be on display for you to mock or envy. Also at the fair, the Naked Cyclist Parade Solstice Parade starts at noon. Come for the cars, stay for the buttocks! Remember to stake your spot out early if you plan to watch, and if you're participating, slather the sunscreen where the sun don't normally shine. (North 35th Street @ Phinney Avenue North, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., free.)

If hippie Solstice celebrations aren't your thing, go eat hot dogs with the SWAT team at the East Precinct Picnic—just don't jaywalk on your way there. (SPD East Precinct, 1519 12th Avenue, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., free.)

Forget about the World Cup—there are no 4:00 a.m. start times or annoying vuvuzelas in Bat-N-Rouge, the queer softball extravaganza. The Drag Queens take on the Dykes as a fundraiser for the Capitol Hill Alano Club. (Cal Anderson Park, Bobby Morris Playfield, 5:00 p.m., free.)

SUNDAY:

Shine up your dancing shoes: Heart Breaks Open, a local queer film currently in production, needs extras for a club scene. Show up on Sunday afternoon to The Cuff dressed in your "night on the town" finery, fill the dance floor, and achieve cinematic immortality. (The Cuff, 1533 13th Avenue, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., free.)

And it's Father's Day as well as the final day of the Washington Brewer's Festival. Take your dad to the Eastside to enjoy some local beer and music (or if you're a father yourself, go and indulge—you deserve a drink). (Saint Edward State Park, 14445 Juanita Drive NE, Kenmore, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., $25, price includes 6 drink tokens.)

On a non-GYAOTC note, my servitude tenure as a news intern is over. Cienna and Dominic will have fresh meat for you Slog Commenters soon. I will think of (most of) you fondly as I return to weekends free of 7:30 a.m. wake-ups to do Morning News. Bye!
