Cecile Andrews and John de Graaf read at Elliott Bay Book Company at 2pm today. The authors are contributors to State of the World 2010: Transforming Cultures, a book that "describe[s] how we can harness the world's leading institutions to reorient cultures toward sustainability." Personally, I'm more excited by the idea of the 4 pm reading at Elliott Bay: Gillian G. Gaar reads from Return of the King: Elvis Presley's Great Comeback. This is a book about one of the finest comebacks in music history. If you haven't seen Elvis's 68 Comeback Special, you haven't seen Elvis. I recommend it to everyone.

But the reading of the day is at Pilot Books today. It's time for Big Pelt Talkie V, the latest entry in Pilot Books' ongoing lecture series. Today's speakers are Don Mee Choi and Sande Cohen. Don Mee Choi is an exciting young poet. I'm willing to bet that you'll be hearing more about her soon.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here.
