There is, suddenly, out of nowhere—gay heaven?—a cherry stand on the corner of Pine Street and 11th Avenue. The cherries are from a farm in Eastern Washington. The man selling them is a friend of the farmer. He is called Travis. Cherries are $2 for half a thing and $3 for a thing. Samples are free. The feeling around the office is that they are delicious. He'll be here all weekend.
