Shawn Thompson reads at Third Place Books tonight. The Intimate Ape: Orangutans and the Secret Life of a Vanishing Species is a book about our furry cousins and how we're making it impossible for them to survive. Poor orangutans.
Connie Willis and Gregory Frost read at University Book Store tonight. The astounding Willis, the author (most recently) of Blackout, will headline. Frost, the author of Lord Tophet, will be the opener. This is a good night for sci-fi fans, and if you've freshly come to sci-fi by way of Cherie Priest's Boneshaker, you might want to think about giving Willis a try.
