All the Puget Sound-area cooling centers are on the Eastside. Unfair. However: The best cooling center of all is an ecumenical one, wetly touching north, south, east, and west: Lake Washington. The water's still slightly shockingly cold, and you'll feel perfect when you get out—unsweaty and de-crankified—probably for the first time all day. Why would you journey to sit inside the North Bellevue Community Center if you could possibly get your body into the lake?
