The survey was conducted after the Wall Street Journal reported this week the Bellingham airport — the airport of choice for an increasing number of bargain-seekers from B.C. — is the cheapest in the U.S. for domestic flights.

Quoting Cheapflights.com, the Journal compiled a list of the top 101 airports ranked by affordability and compared flights out of alternative airports.

It concluded that Bellingham airport topped Cheapflights.com’s ranking with an average ticket price of $256 US.

Bellingham has been absorbed by Vancouver. It's practically a suburb of that great city across the border.
