Last night I went to see the documentary about lady artists that I Slogged about yesterday, "Our City Dreams." It was seriously meh. Nancy Spero is god, obviously. Swoon, Ghada Amer, Kiki Smith, and Marina Abramovic? Whatev. Spend time with their work, not this movie.

But after the movie I went downstairs to see the new iteration of the ongoing show Vortexhibition Polyphonica, culled entirely from the permanent collection of the Henry Art Gallery—and this is my favorite iteration yet. Or maybe it's because the iterations keep piling up in my memory, so I'm getting a glimpse at the identity of the Henry in a way I never do otherwise, since it has no ongoing space for collections shows (unlike, say, SAM or the Frye).

I totally recommend this third iteration. Details on the show here. A few pics I snapped of gems...click to enlarge, as always.
