Four readings today. Jeanne Matthews reads at Seattle Mystery Bookshop today. The title of her new mystery, Bones of Contention, is probably a double entendre. Get it? Bones, as in corpses? Eh? Eh?

Elliott Bay Book Company hosts Monica Murphy Lemoine this afternoon. Knocked Up, Knocked Down is a book about the trials and tribulations of pregnancy and parenthood. If fiction is more your thing, Deborah Clearman reads up at Third Place Books tonight. Todos Santos is a novel about a woman who visits Guatemala, only to find that her fourteen-year-old son has gone missing.

But the reading of the day is at Pilot Books. Matty Byloos, Carrie Seitzinger, and Matthew Simmons read tonight at 6 pm. Simmons is a local author who just signed a book deal; his first collection of short stories will be published next year. He'll read from his debut novella, A Jello Horse, and from his upcoming collection, too.
