We have a poetry slam, a book about a missing cyclist, and four awesome readings tonight.

Ellen Datlow will be making an appearance at University Book Store tonight. Datlow is a celebrated editor of science fiction short stories. It's not often you get an opportunity to talk with an editor about editing, so you should make this one count.

Montana writer Kevin Canty is at Elliott Bay Book Company. Everything is a novel that promises a whole lot with its title. Canty's fiction has been published everywhere, including The New Yorker.

Ravenna Third Place Books hosts Megan Kelso tonight. Kelso's Artichoke Tales is a fantasy comic book that doesn't read like a fantasy comic book. Instead, it's a summery coming-of-age sort of tale. It's not really like that, either. Here's my article about it. You should just read the damn book already.

And H.W. Brands will be at Town Hall. Brands—a historian who has written great books about Teddy Roosevelt, Andrew Jackson, and the Cold War—reads from his new book American Dreams, which chronicles America "from the A-bomb to the iPhone."

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
