J.A. Jance reads at Seattle Mystery Bookshop and Third Place Books today. Queens of the Night is the newest mystery from the disgustingly popular local mystery author.

Ian McDonald reads at University Book Store tonight.Sometimes you can't do any better than copy the press release:

McDonald uses richly detailed Asian, African, and South American settings to illuminate the contradictions implicit in colonialism and rapid technological development, while telling epic tales of human struggle and redemption. His cyberpunk-tinged stories of artificial intelligence, delicious nanotech recipes, and virtual life and death win him prestigious awards and international acclaim.

That's certainly...overwhelming.

And Elliott Bay Book Company hosts Lily King tonight. Father of the Rain is "a domestic drama" from King, who is an author from Maine. (The New York Times liked it, and likes King.) This looks like a good one.
