Okay. This was all over this week's paper and it's in the books lead and it will be a Suggest on Slog in a minute or two, but here is one more reminder, because this is a post about readings that are happening tonight: Gary Shteyngart will be reading at the Sunset tonight at 8 pm. This is the second Verse Chapter Verse, a reading series that pairs very good bands with important authors and cheap booze.

It's 5 bucks, and it'll run like this: Orkestar Zirkonium will play a few songs. Gary Shteyngart will read. I'll ask him some questions, and then you'll get to ask him some questions. (If you're shy and you have a good question, you can leave it in the comments and I'll ask for you.) Then Orkestar Zirkonium wil play some more songs and Shteyngart will sign books and everybody will get drunk.

There's another interesting-looking reading tonight, too: The Sorrento Hotel will be hosting a special edition of Night School featuring "12 intimate conversations between past Bumbershoot writers and musicians, nestled in 6 resplendent hotel rooms." Hopefully, you can wander from room to room and pick up some smart stuff. This sounds like a lot of fun.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
