Kat Richardson signs at Seattle Mystery Bookshop today. Labyrinth is a fantasy novel that has no relation to the Jim Henson-peppered film from the 1980s.

Third Place Books hosts two historical novels today. One is a novel about the author's family history, and the other is a novel taking place during the Civil War. Third Place Ravenna has a different theme. Nicole Peeler and Mark Henry will read tonight from Tempest Rising and Battle of the Network Zombies respectively. The former is a fantasy novel set in a small town in Maine. The latter is a book about a Seattle zombie who joins a competition to save her dying ad agency.

And Rick Moody reads at Elliott Bay Book Company tonight. People are split on Moody. Just the other day, I was talking to someone who called him "the worst writer of his generation." I wouldn't go quite that far—The Ice Storm and certain stories in Demonology are good—but it's been a long time since he's done something of note. His new book, The Four Fingers of Death, is a sci-fi novel about a demonic severed hand. It's receiving good reviews.
