Reading Tonight: Protest Music and Free Sci-fi Books
One reading tonight. Portland music historian (and former
Journeyman) Dick Weissman reads from his new book
Talkin' Bout a Revolution: Music and Social Change in America at Elliott Bay Book Company. Topics range from the Revolutionary War to the Iraq War, and there will be a special focus on minorities and protest music. Weissman will
read lyrics and perform songs for your entertainment and edification.
If protest music isn't your thing, I would like to direct your attention to the Baen Free E-book Library, in which you can download free sci-fi e-books to read this evening. You can even e-mail the books directly to a Kindle.
The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
