Walking to my apartment with a cheap bottle of wine, and thinking about one of the four forces of nature (the strong force, which is a strange force because it's weak at short distances and strong at great distances—I really was thinking about this), I came across the police activity surrounding this incident:

The body of a man was found beside railway tracks inside the King Street railway tunnel Sunday afternoon.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man as James G. Lindsay, 18, and listed his cause of death as blunt force head injury.

According to Seattle police, Lindsay's body was found south of the north tunnel entrance. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This death happened (or at least was discovered) on Sunday, August 22. A pattern is emerging: Last Sunday (August 8), an 18-year-old woman was killed by a train in Tacoma, and the Sunday before that (August 1), a 16-year-old man was killed by a train in Puyallup.

One other thing. At one point in my life, I was not very far from the way James Lindsay left his life.
