It also reminds us of how horrible, how ugly, how vapid, how mean, how little, how everything is so wrong with middle-class lawns. Really, is there anything in that culture—the marriage contracts, the savings, the retirement plans, the tourism, the lawns—that can be salvaged? It appears to be a dry loss.
