Britain's culture constituency is stepping up with a brief manifesto, a petition, and a media campaign:

It has taken 50 years to create a vibrant arts culture in Britain that is the envy of the world. We the undersigned appeal to the government not to slash arts funding and risk destroying this long-term achievement and the social and economic benefits it brings to all.

This video is worth thinking about (and forwarding) this legislative session as Frank Chopp and the rest of the gang in Olympia decide whether to extend funding for 4Culture (its lodging tax money technically ends in 2012 and its endowment, like endowments across the country, has crashed) or let 4Culture die...
