So The Corn Refiners Association is trying to rebrand high-fructose corn syrup as the friendlier and more organic-sounding "corn sugar." (The CRA has ((probably wisely)) disabled embedding on their YouTube commercials that launch the name change, but you can find them here and here.)

Like many marketing efforts by awful lobbies trying to launch a new brand, this is just dumb enough to catch on with the general public. So what I think we need to do is this: Someone should come up with a definition for "corn sugar" that is disgusting enough, and ubiquitous enough, to catch on, Santorum-style. Something really filthy, something that would make the CRA run back to the high-fructose corn syrup label.

The big problem is that I can't think of any definition disgusting enough to make "corn sugar" into something really repulsive. If only someone on the internet had a filthy mind...
